Beautiful Blinds, Sustainable Shutters and Green Window Fashions

Did you know that Graber Window Fashions is committed to sustainable manufacturing practices so we can all enjoy a “greener” future?

shuttersMade in the Shade Wichita started carrying Graber, , a subsidiary of Springs Window Fashions, because they are an industry leader with over 75-years of experience producing window treatments that exemplify sophisticated style, quality and innovative design. From blinds to shades and shutters to soft treatments, Graber offers exquisite window fashions.

While there is no doubt that Graber products are beautiful and well designed, it is their environmentally sustainable practices that made me a fan of the company – not just a fan of their products. As someone who enjoys the great outdoors, Graber’s commitment to a “greener” future is truly meaningful.

natural shadesThis environmentally conscious company manufactures products responsibly. They recycle materials, conserve water and source raw materials domestically using sustainable practices. Local sourcing lowers carbon emissions associated with transportation. Product packaging is minimal and uses at least 44% post-consumer recycled material. Graber even uses their saw dust (a bi-product of manufacturing blinds and shutters) to heat their Wisconsin manufacturing facility.

Graber products are designed for greener, more energy efficient living. Window coverings can help conserve energy by insulating windows and regulating heat gain and heat loss. Cellular shades and draperies insulate against heat gain and loss by creating an insulating pocket of air between the window and your room. Blinds and shutters can improve heat gain by up to 45% if they are kept closed on sunny windows.

Roman ShadesGraber blinds and shades use GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified materials to minimize off gassing, which is the release of chemicals into the air. If you’ve ever smelled new paint or the inside of a new car, you’ve experience off gassing. GREENGUARD Certified products meet rigorous standards for low emissions of harmful volatile organic compounds into the air.
